Internal structure of the software package

The information system and urban simulation of water, or la sistema de información y simulación urbana del agua (SIMUA), is a software package designed to deliver optimized solutions to the many issues arising in the area of water management. It develops present and future scenarios relating to climate change adaptation in which all aspects (geographical, social, cultural, technological, ethical, economic, etc.) are considered in order to achieve maximum urban sustainability. SIMUA uses open designs and offers features such as automatic program updates and improvements when a new version becomes available.



SIMUA aims to provide technology to maintain the sustainability of urban systems using excellent water management. This includes using technology to conserve and/or recycle wastewater while integrating different social qualities and backgrounds into a sustainable framework. This framework will be financially viable and mutually beneficial to ensure development results in a positive interaction with the environment.



Other features of SIMUA include the estimation index of water sustainability for any geographical area and the categorization of urban land types. Moreover, the design of feedback systems for contaminated water will help users improve their natural water systems, while considering important limitations on water usage and encouraging excellence in water management.
