ICING: Innovative cities for the next generation

ICING is funded by the European Commission within the 6th Research Framework Program and development in the field of information technology and communications (TIC).

ICING is an international project in which the cities of Barcelona, Helsinki, and Dublin will work to develop a model and the technology that will allow cities to become more responsive, friendly, inclusive and intelligent.

The project, which has been one of the most highly valued by the European Commission, brings together the efforts of companies like T-Systems Spain, Telefonica and eSpatial Solutions Ltd. (specialists in neighborhood services through mobile devices), and several reputable international universities including the University Pompeu Fabra, the Helsingin Kaupunki for Helsinki and Dublin Institute of Technology.
