Development of methodological and instrumental resources to develop the local climate change strategy

Development of methodological and instrumental resources to develop the local climate change strategy

This application was carried out by a grant awarded by the biodiversity Foundation in 2009. The object was to define a conceptual framework with methodologies and innovative tools that would delve into the study of the complexity of urban systems, their operation, and to develop proposals that end up assuming a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions that set the strategy for combating climate change.

This tool can be used to make the diagnosis of GHG emissions, generate various scenarios - one of them the trend if there are actions - and another, or several, with the implementation of reduction actions in the different sectors previously analysed, giving priority to the adoption of common criteria for drawing up the plan of action for the fight against climate change. In this sense, the application is broad, since it covers the spectrum of emission of the majority of sectors with the exception of the industrial, so can set reduction targets, assessing the impact of certain policies and, above all, facilitating an order of magnitude from which it is possible to construct policies for combating climate change.
