Ciudad Jardín will not be the only commercial district in which the City Council wants there to be pedestrian streets. The experience of Ciudad Jardín will be repeated in other neighborhoods and in the short term, since the government team wants to act in one or two more before the end of the mandate, which comes to an end in the middle of 2019. Comercio Córdoba, in favor of the total pedestrianization of Cruz Conde since the first moment, has asked the City Council in more than one occasion the pedestrianization of streets of all the commercial districts.

The City Council hopes to approve this year the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), which in Ciudad Jardin includes superblocks, an idea maintained by the local government to carry it out once implemented the pedestrianization of the first streets of the neighborhood. The SUMP collects about a hundred measures, including the implementation of superblocks, in which there will be speed reductions to 30 and 10 kilometers and the increasing of pedestrian zones. The document, commissioned by the PP during its mandate to the company Barcelona Ecology, includes measures that give priority to the pedestrian in front of the vehicle. Although at first the idea was to apply it in all the city, it was decided that the pilot program was going to be developed in Ciudad Jardín. Before the municipal elections, the PP presented the plan, that divides Ciudad Jardín in four superblocks with its limits in República Argentina, Medina Azahara, Gran Via Parque and avenue of Aeropuerto. The interior of the superblocks is reserved for the transit of the neighbors and to the commerce.
