The Mayor promised that 2017 will be a year of changes. At least, in what refers to circulation. During his visit to the Tramways Company, Xulio Ferreiro said that the Department of mobility will reorder the circulation throughout the city, the bus lines will be reduced, transshipments will multiply, the bus lane will be installed and will begin to implement the plan of sustainable mobility of Salvador Rueda. All throughout the coming year, although Ferreiro failed to set a date for the starting gun of a plan that has being prepared in dribs and drabs since the Marea Atlántica arrived to María Pita.

Ferreiro acknowledged that it is an "ambitious" plan but added that they do not start from zero: "There is a work done in previous years through the Mobility Plan that elaborated Salvador Rueda in certain moment". This plan is based on the concept of superblock: closing several small traffic streets so that circulation is limited to the large arteries, such as the rounds and the avenues. Small streets are devoted to pedestrians and cyclists and only come resident, loading and unloading, services and emergencies can enter.
